Manhattan Beach is built on Sand Dunes.  The dunes create a hilly landscape, with ocean views in the western side of the city. The only remaining exposed sand dune is at Sand Dune Park where the dune is used by many as a fitness training tool.

Homes and shops in Manhattan Beach are beautiful.  There is a walkable downtown section by the beach, as well as Manhattan Village Shopping Mall and lots of business up from the water along Pacific Coast Highway.
